Course Outline
DTE Training & Safety is an approved provider for RTA Yarwun Operations CTO assessment.
To work at RT Yarwun site all personnel are required to undergo Competency to Operate (CTO) assessment within the context of the Rio Tinto Yarwun area of operations.
CTO assessment confirms an individual demonstrates the required skills, knowledge and aptitude to the standard expected by RT Yarwun Operations & RT Yarwun Learning Management Framework.
CTO assessment uses an awareness training approach to provide or refresh content/procedure/safe operation to an individual with basic knowledge & understanding of RT Yarwun operations approved best practice standard.
Classroom delivery will be used to assess underpinning knowledge requirements with practical hands on use of the equipment in a simulated environment.
CTO assessment is conducted at the request of clients.
Assessment
Depending on the CTO topic theory and practical assessments will be conducted at the end of the overview.
Completed assessments will be returned to the clients so they can be uploaded into the LMS belonging to RTY.

Recognition of Prior Learning
There are provisions for recognition of prior learning for the training.
Language Literacy & Numeracy (LLN)
To complete this CTO successfully, participants need to have reasonably well developed skills in areas such as reading, writing and communication.
Examples of LLN requirements participants will need to demonstrate include:
- Access, interpret & follow Permits to work
- Clarify & confirm work requirements
- Identify & address risks & hazards
- Ability to complete all requirements of the CTO
