BSBWHS411 – Implement and Monitor WHS Policies, Procedures and Programs to meet Legislative Requirements

Course Outline

This training program provides practical guidance for persons who have duties under the 2011 QLD WHS Act and Regulations to manage the businesses health and safety in the workplace. The training is focused on persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU), including employers, self-employed persons, principal contractors and persons with management or control of a workplace who need to demonstrate due diligence under the WHS 2011 legislation.

Key learning outcomes of the Work Health and Safety for Managers training programme are:

  • Understanding the WHS Legislative Framework
  • Responsibilities of those in Control of a Workplace
  • Hazard/Risk Control and Process Evaluation
  • Incident, Accident Reporting and Investigation

Face to face classroom delivery will be used to facilitate the underpinning knowledge requirements.

 

Assessment

Underpinning knowledge will be verified through a variety of theory assessments and research assignments. On successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.

 

Who Should Attend?

This training program is designed for persons with management or control over a workplace, or persons that have a capacity to exercise control of other workers or contractors in the workplace such as tradespersons or contractor coordinator’s.

 

Legislation / Compliance

This training program has been written to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to comply with their due diligence obligations under the Queensland Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

 

Recognition of Prior Learning

There are provisions for recognition of prior learning (RPL) for this training.

 

Language Literacy & Numeracy (LLN)

To complete this course successfully, participants need to have reasonably well developed skills in areas such as reading, writing and communication. Examples of LLN requirements participants will need to demonstrate include:

  • Communicate information to the work team about WHS policies & procedures
  • Implement procedures to control risks
  • Identify and report inadequacies in existing risk controls
  • Maintain WHS records
